I might be a bit behind the times as I've been on a Non B for a while, but can I get an update on getting a SETV in neighboring countries. Do you have to book online first? Can you just go to a Thai Consulate in another country with the usual documents? Is an outbound ticket required from Thailand?

Only Vientiane Laos and Kuala Lumpur require appointments to do the application.

All nearby locations other than Vientiane require proof of the equivalent of at least 20k baht in a bank and a ticket out of the country.
