Brexit: UK passports issued without 'European Union' label

 

 

British passports are being issued without the words 'European Union' on the cover, despite the delay to Brexit.

 

The new burgundy passports were introduced from 30 March, the day after the UK was supposed to leave the EU, but some people may still receive the old version until stocks run out.

 

One recipient said she was "truly appalled" at the change.

 

Dark blue passports resembling the pre-EU British design are due to be issued from the end of the year.

Finally. The Brexit is completed and done.

Hopefully other countries follow suit and the EU goes up in flames.

People getting excited by Blue passports or EU name being removed are the saddest of the sad. It's like getting excited about a sweet wrapper that has a slightly different colour than before.

What a great tremendous success. Losing all those business finally is paying off; soon we will see many countries following suit as they jealously look at the UK reaping the fruits of destroying economy and society: a passport without EU written on it. ????

No other country is currently planning any referendum, discussing invoking Article 50 or expressing mass opinions to leave the EU.

 

Britain ain't a leader. Some are sad to see Britain leave, some are glad, some are ambivalent. But none likely to follow.

I believe they've ordered them...................... from France! So probably late delivery due to the Yellow vests and 35 hour week and will then get caught up in customs delays both sides of the channel!

 

More seriously, the Brexiters claim how British industry will be fantastically revived and regenerated once we leave the EU. And the UK government buys it's new passports from France. Says it all.

I wonder how many people who, like me, have recently renewed their passports, went to check. Yeah, still have European Union on mine. Actually, this is gonna be a serious hassle for younger guys wanting to travel around Europe, no problem for the guy who's never left his village I suppose. I'm an old fogey so don't really care, did the Grand Tour years ago.

Contrary to public opinion and the wishes of Remainers, the govt has actually been making preparations for Brexit across the board. They just don't feel any need to check it out with anybody on TVF, especially the Remainers there.

Hi Mavideol ...don't try to discuss with idiots like Sweetstickyrice who thinks that the EU is something like the former USSR with a Politburo in Brussels while in fact all 27 remaining member states - even the smallest - have full veto right on every decision.
