Support has been pouring in from various sectors of Thai society for Khao Kwan Foundation president Decha Siripat after a combined force of police, military and anti-narcotic officials raided the foundation’s offices in Suphan Buri last Wednesdayand seized about 200 marijuana plants, cannabis oil, dried marijuana seeds and marijuana powder.

Some foundation staff were held in police custody on charges of illegal possession of narcotics and summonses have been issued for Mr. Decha, requiring him to report to police in Suphan Buri to acknowledge a charge of illegal possession of narcotics. The Khao Kwan Foundation president is currently in Laos on a study tour.

Former senator, Ms. Rosana Tositrakul, said on her Facebook page today that she has known Mr. Decha for over 30 years as a man who has dedicated his life to the development of Thai rice to fend off attempts by agro industry giants to gain a monopoly on Thai rice seed.

Mr Decha - who has been fighting agro industry monopolies all his life has stirred up something here.
The cake has already been divided and a new monopoly has been created or why do people think this new Cannabis law has been rushed through the “central committee” they call a parliament here so fast?

Does anybody else here smell a rat ?
Probably the biggest joke below is that it says she is a former ELECTED representative of the NCPO !! I must have missed that election somehow?
And yes sure the industry will benefit all Thais and not make a few very rich !!! Hahaha

From the Thai Cannabis Corporations website:

Just simple again. How rich people get more rich of a new product.

Benefit all Thai from export cannabis, yha right.

Still kratom is banned, while Indonesia (muslim country) is making money out of it.

E cigarette is still forbidden in Thailand, question is of course how rich people can benefit that.

And so on and so on

this man appears to be a pioneer concerning medical use, hopefully his intentions will be recognized..
