To my knowledge, the only direct bus is the Yellow Bus, departing from Pattaya Bus Station, North Road.

Website:  iloveyellowbus.com  Advance booking strongly advised.

I find the site Rome2Rio invaluable for travel between two places in Thailand

Many options beyond just Yellow Bus.

Can get at main station on North Pattaya. Another on Sukhumvit past North Pattaya on East side. Also on 3rd Rd. just north of Central.

However, I have been up there during Songkran and it is the same. Hard to avoid.

Can you name the bus company(ies) ?

Hi

My girlfriend is from there ( Surin ), she uses Nakhonchai Air.. for home visits.

She says it is OK.

I have also used it myself and yes it is OK.

Just hate long distance bus travel

Journey time is between 8 to 9  hours.

Website for you

I think you might have left your escape too late, I drove from BKK to Phetchabun this morning and traffic to Saraburi already crazy.

Majority of them hang a right there for Korat / Surin / Buriram.

Rather you than me getting on a bus this time of year - good luck!

Highways 331, 304 and 314 probably not quite so bad yet. You may have 24 - 36 hrs. of relatively free-flowing traffic, measured from now.

Sorry if too late

Best bus NakhonchaiAir, tel 1624 (English spoken), can book over the phone and pay at 7/11

Their station is at the intersection of Sukhumvit and Pattaya Klang, next to Sukhumvit Soi 59

It takes 9 hours in normal traffic
