webfact Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 Rescue effort underway for diver, member of Thailand Soccer rescue team trapped in Tennessee cave By: Kyle Davis A cave rescue is currently underway in Jackson County, Tennessee; according to Jackson County Emergency Management, a man is trapped in a cave. A member of the rescue team said the man was one of the rescue divers who saved a Thailand Soccer team from a cave last year. Around 1 a.m. Wednesday, Jackson County 911 received a call about an unaccounted-for man in the area of Mill Pond Cave. He'd been reportedly laying guideline when others noticed he hadn't returned. Divers in his team attempted to rescue him for several hours but couldn’t find him. ... Specially trained divers entered the water at approximately 6 p.m. (Wednesday) to search for Bratchley, who was rescued at 6:58 p.m. ... Krebs said Wednesday that there is an "airbell" in the cave system that was large enough for a diver to climb into and that held sufficient air to survive for a period of time greater than 24 hours. Bratchley was located in the "airbell" when he was rescued. 3
