How long have you lived in Thailand

I have only been living here full-time for 42 years but my first few trips were in 1975.

I started to live here when you walked into the old Thermae through the kitchen and the bathroom (I forgot in which order) at 3am and it was totally crowded. And then you picked up something for 500B a night. Yeah, long time ago...

And there was no BTS and Sukhumvit was wide open.

And MBK was the shopping center everybody went to for almost anything - because it was about the only shopping center...

since 1996.

I go so far back I can remember when the Thai smile was real.

It was the time of the stiletto heel and the mini skirt. Phwoar! And girls were friendly. There were almost no fat girls as there was no McDonalds.

Datsun taxis had no air con and were so rusty you could see the road (Flintstone style) right through the floor. You'd get out dripping wet, but you didn't care as beer and girls were cheap.

There was no Skytrain and Suwannaphum airport was a Cobra infested swamp.

Immigration was a Hell hole at Suan Phlu where you could wait up to 6 hours....... some things never change.

Three and a half years.

A long time.

You're welcome.  Not really my idea to come. Just one of those quirks of fate.

Didn't really feel at home till 2004.

Ya.  I feel like that. As I get older I am getting really more quirky.  I shaved my head yesterday.  Now I feel like I should stay at the Wat for a while.

They did this to me when I was a small boy and had blond hair.

I hated it!
