If I have the appropriate visa (imm O for retirement I think) does anyone know which would be the best airline for the one way trip, the reason I ask is because I checked the KLM website (I have always flown with KLM) and was quoted £5000+.

I also read somewhere that some airlines will not take one way passengers, is this correct.

Any help would be appreciated

Can only comment on this part. As long as you have a visa, no problem.

Airline do worry if passengers want to fly without an outbound- or onward ticket AND without a visa.

I just did a check with ebookers and they have on a random date (16th May 2007)

Qatar airlines via Doha @ £308 and

EVA air direct non stop flight @ £346

KLM via AMS @ £459 (if you must)

No problem to travel on a O/W ticket if you have a visa.
