Hi guys, i'm here to build six wooden sailing vessels. The Cassiopeia Schooner Project is going to build a fleet of schooners to sail the seas bringing awareness and solutions for environmental and social issues. I am going to be using a local Philang boatbuilder of good reputation and we will be using around 30 Thai workers. I will be using his company to acquire work permits for a few ex-pat managers and specialist. Any suggestions on the best way to do that and the basic rules and costs would be greatly appreciated. Another big question is about the availability of a visa to allow Visiting Volunteers to help with the project. I have lots ofr support for this project and want to let people visit and be involved. Again any ideas appreciated. khup kun krap   Harold

Can I ask, why did you chose the one of the most bureaucratic, and most wealthy, and most expensive countries in the region,

Most wealthy and most expensive? How about Singapore (wealthier than USA) and Malaysia (wealthier than Thailand)?

Would definitely reinvestigate and reconsider your choice. Not just the burocrazy factor, but also boatbuilding, supply factor, work ethics, cost, epertise etc. If you don't have detailed TH experience you are in for a very bumpy ride. Forget about all the self-proclaimed experts. Do your homework and due diligence. Have several friends who tried similar, people with good background. They all regret. Best of luck. MS>
