Change from non Imm B multi entry visa to tourist visa?

Featured Replies

Looking for advice. I currently have a one year MEV Non-Imm visa expiring in May 2019.  My spouse has worknpermit and renewing hers via employer. My plans are moving from Thailand in July 2019. Can I just apply at local immigration for tourist visa from May to June.

I have 90 day report expiring 1 July.

Thanks

Most likely you have an 1 year extension of stay with multiple entry re-entry permit, and not a multiple entry non B visa, since you seem to be doing 90 day reports.

In that case you cannot further extend at Immigration, and you will have to exit the country.

If your nationality allows it, it will be easier to re-enter visa exempt for 30 days and extend that for another 30 days if needed.

It would be good to clarify what you have in your passport though, if you had a multi non B, the whole thing changes and so does the advice.

No. You will have to leave the country to get a Tourist Visa.

If you need less than 60 days you could exit/re-enter using visa exemption and get a 30 day stay that you can extend for another 30 days.

If you need more than 60 days you’re best option would probably be a Tourist Visa. That gives 60 days on entry that is also extendable by 30 days if required.
