First of all: I know opinions are divided on this, but for the last few years I’ve been using an agent – coincidentally, the one advertising here. My main reason is that, after 25 years, I no longer want to have 800k in my bank account – yes, I know, there are plenty of ways to avoid worrying about that – but I believe that, in the event of my death, my next of kin would have to go to a great deal of trouble to get hold of that money again. And that’s why I use an agent.
