Why bother sweating in the gym to get a six-pack....when you can just have surgery!

Thai media has reported on the growing trend of men going for surgery rather than working out in gyms to get a six pack.

A poster on Facebook - along with some quite grisly pictures - explained matter and showed a model having surgery.

Atittayapa Photiya suggested it was a waste of time to go down the gym route that might give you a six pack but one that was hard to keep.

Surgery was a great solution - and it was permanent and easy, reported Bright TV.

Other media suggested that plastic surgeons at the Masterpiece Hospital in Dusit district of Bangkok were charging about 120,000 baht a time for the procedure.

And there were plenty of takers - 20 to 30 customers a month were applying.

The surgery is said to not be dangerous and involves sucking fat from the abdomen and repositioning certain structures in the stomach area.

It means going under the knife for up to 4 hours but few people - perhaps as little as one in five - experience any complications.

And most customers are reasonably satisfied with the results that can be achieved with surgery.

Bright TV said many men were no longer wasting their time in the gym and going for six pack surgery instead.

Here at Thaivisa we think a straw poll is in order: What would you do for that flat manly abdomen?

1. Sweat it out in the gym
2. Go for surgery and to hell with the cost
3. Try to impress the ladies with what you've got!
4. Sit back, have another beer and feed that belly regardless!

One has to wonder about the materials used in the implant structure and how it will react over time with the body’s immune responses.

One bloke  in Oz several years ago had butt and thigh and pectoral implants done, all sagged and gravity pulled em down as no muscle to hold them in place. Removal cost as much as original procedures.

That is 20% who develop complications - doesn't inspire me.  I'll just suffer along with my beer belly (and it is already paid for!).

Moral of the story...leave your body and looks alone and just live with it or else they is a price to pay for vanity ultimately.

That goes double for the skin bleaching creams, lotions, soaps, shampoos.  Vanity, thy name is (wo)man!

the guy in story was already fairly slim but had a belly. would look quite silly to do 6 pack surgery in those that are quite overweight all around, like a jackie gleason with a six pack.

working out/situps/sports to attain a six pack is healthy and creates more stamina and benefits all the organs

This kid will regret it when he's older and ends up looking deformed.

At 25 I was 3 stone heavier than I am now. I'm now 50 with a 6 pack! It's all about understanding diet. Exercise plays a part, but to a much lesser degree, it's all about what you eat (and drink of course!)

AFAIK, this is just liposuction sculpting of the layer of fat covering the 'real' six-pack.  Fat is removed in specific regions to create the appearance of the horizontal lines that emphasise the six pack muscles.  But most of the layer of fat is still there.

I can see a downside for those of whose who have 'worked hard' in the gym to reveal our six-packs.  Many will assume that I've just paid for sculptored lipo....
