It'll cost you 500bht or $10 for your crossing to Burma.

Burmese side will ask you if you want to go shopping or return straight away.

If you want to go shopping, they give you a receipt for your passport, and you use the receipt to visit the Burmese side.

Worthwhile for a cheap 1 litre of booze and some 50bht packets of Viagra (Managra) from the touts (they ask for much more, but are easily beaten down to 50bht/packet of 4)

Not much else worth buying on the Burmese side.

I did go there to get a visa exempt entry recently and I told the Burmese side that I would stay for the night and he asked me whether I had a hotel booking , I said that I didnt and that I would just walk around and find a place .

LOL , he told me that without a hotel booking , he wouldnt let me in , so he stamped me in and out and sent me back to Thailand .

I thanked him for allowing me a very enjoyable 2 minute stay in Myanmar ????

I did this in March of 2016. When asked if I wanted to go shopping I said yes. I got stamped in to Myanmar and then stamped out when I finished shopping. Thailand let me reenter with no problem. I had about 5 days left before my 'expire date' on the O-A. I was good for another 364 days.

Did not know a single officer can do this.

usually, you get stamped out on the other side of the road,by other personnel.

Thats if you want to stay a while , they cn stamp you in and out at the same time , in the same office by the same person, if you are going straight back
