I got married last week and I have been told that I have to take

my wife to immigration within one month to tell them she is living with me

or suffer an 800 baht fine when I change my retirement visa to a marriage visa

in November

I do hope that you are aware that you do not NEED to change your extension of stay... you can continue with your retirement extension no problem...

I believe you are talking about change from a one year retirement extension of stay to a one year Thai wife extension of stay.  Have no idea what report you would be making or why there would be an 800 baht fine.  If you are changing address the household and you should make the required reports.  She has no required immigration contact until you apply for the new extension of stay AFAIK.

It would be the reverse. If staying in her house she would do a TM30 report to inform immigration you are staying there.

There is certainly no requirement for your wife to report she is staying with you.

OP, when immigrations asks "when did you move in with wife", the answer is yesterday, otherwise you may get a fine for not reporting within 24 hours.
