BANGKOK, (NNT) - The Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan, has welcomed the President of the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC), Chen Yuan, with both sides agreeing to strengthen bilateral cooperation in all areas.

Gen. Prawit welcomed the CAIFC President and his delegation at the Ministry of Defense in Bangkok on Monday (Apr 29). During their meeting, both sides praised the level of cooperation between the two countries.

Gen. Prawit lauded China’s rapid growth and development in the fields of the economy, investment, education, public health and technology. He expressed his gratitude to China for supporting Thailand in various areas.

He said the Thai government and the Royal Thai Army would be happy to work with the private sector of China to strengthen ties and cooperation in all areas, particularly in areas promoting economic development and enhancing the people’s quality of life.

The Deputy Prime Minister said he would like to thank China for its continued confidence and support in the Thai tourism sector and said Thailand will always welcome tourists from China and ensure their safety.

The CAIFC President said he would like to thank the government of Thailand for the warm reception and its support for China’s One Belt One Road policy. He said the private sector from China is ready to enhance the bilateral cooperation in all fields.

He said the private, public and military sectors will contribute to the cooperation and help close the development gaps in the fields of education and public health. He said there will be more investment from China to support Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) to forge closer ties and cooperation between the two countries.
