I wonder if scientists would tell us the truth if they knew that an asteroid will hit our planet in the near future.

It is of course cool they can predict but then again they do the same with many comets etc

 

The Blue dots shown on that being satellites is even more impressive when considering

they calc launch windows when launching a rocket etc to thread its way thru that mess/traffic

They would inform those that "need to know" I doubt very much that ordinary people would ever know until it was imminent. There would be chaos and a total breakdown of society, probably.

This meteor hit about 11,000 years bring us out of the last ice age.The earth passes through the Taurid Meteor Stream twice a year, each passage taking around 12 days.

Its a constant threat that should get more investment

Y2K was a bust. Climate change is getting old hat. We need a new disaster so that we can be separated from our money.

Yup, Ebola seemed to fizzle out, & not be a Pandemic.
