HM King Maha Vajiralongkorn has expressed thanks and appreciation to all involved in the smooth, grand and dignified coronation ceremony earlier this month.

Held in line with ancient traditions, the ceremony ran May-6 in Bangkok.

The message of thanks and appreciation from the King was relayed via an announcement of the Royal Household Bureau.

Issued on Sunday, the announcement stated that the King had thanked all involved in organising the coronation ceremony, and also all who attended and expressed support for the ceremony and related events.

According to the announcement, His Majesty has noted the unity of all sides that allowed the coronation ceremony to take place smoothly, elegantly, and beautifully in line with Thai traditions.

“The unity reflects the love and bond Thai people have had for the monarchy, the King, his Queen, his parents and all other members of the Royal Family,” the announcement stated.

The current monarch is the only son of HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who reigned Thailand for seven decades until his passing in late 2016, and HM Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother.
