Yes many statements made, but the medical insurance requirement is confusing

Is it required for new OA visa?   or is it required for OA visa extension?

If answer is yes for both Ill switch to marriage visa.

    Thanks

The cabinet had a meeting about it and decided to do further study of how to implement insurance for O-A visas.  They will discuss plans and make a formal announcement when and if it becomes a requirement.  O-A is the first group they will consider for mandatory insurance as it stands right now.

OP small point. Keep in mind you are not extending your visa. When  your O-A is about to expire you will be applying for "extension of stay based on retirement". Its not an extension of the visa. At some point you could change the " based on...."

Could be based on marriage to thai etc.
