Going to Vientiane consulate later than 9am?

Featured Replies

I hear after the appointment system one should now go to the Vientiane consulate at 9am or maybe even 8:30am. My old strategy was to show up 30 minutes prior to the end of their day session because there would be no line.

Is coming late to avoid most of the line still doable or do you have to "check in" for your appointment at 9am now?

You can enter after 9am if you have an appointment. They call the queau numbers by groups. If you have a low number it is best to get there early.

Sounds like the queue number is given online at the time of registration then? I guess that would make sense

Seems like that - ????

Queue #: 015
Time: 09:00 - 12:00

You can get there any time before 12. Do exactly what you used to do before. You will keep number 15 for collecting your passport the following day. This was confirmed by me a few weeks ago. Ignore the advice to get there early as you'll just be walking into a massive queue for no benefit.

Just to confirm, the number we receive doesn’t really refer to our position in the queue. Can attend at anytime as long as you have an appointment booked

The queue number assigns you to a group that will initially be invited to enter at the approximate time indicated. However, you can arrive any time after your group has been called (same day of course) and will be allowed to enter.
