The Department of Intellectual Property works to prevent counterfeit product sales online

Thailand’s Department of Intellectual Property is cooperating with a famous online shopping website owner to resolve and prevent counterfeit product sales online. Customers are now able to blow the whistle on pirated goods being sold on the web.

May 28th, 2019, Ms. Napapatch Chan-Udom, a victim of counterfeit fraud, told of her experience of buying goods from a well-known online shopping website. She found that the product purchased was fake, so she complained to the website, which denied any responsibility.

Ms. Napapatch said that she will continue buying online, despite a bad experience. Now, she selects more credible and responsible platforms. She wants the website owners to screen their sellers carefully.

However…the Department of Intellectual Property’s computers run on bootleg copies of Windows XP and are having a hard time keeping up. They’re considering an upgrade to a bootleg version of Windows 8....at which time the war on counterfeit products can commence in earnest.

If this worked, then Lazada would surely sell a lot less products, given the amount of cheap Chinese goods they sell already, that appear to be very close to the original.

I think it depends on the product.   a "fake" pencil or pen, fake shirt logos, fake shorts, pants, hats.....whatever.

fake cars, houses, medicine.....now we are talking

fake computers and phones..... grey area, depends on price

i bought lots of fake stuff at stores and it's amazing how bad quality the stuff is.  1/10 is good and 9/10 times you end up worse off.   example, say, motorbike tire.  bad rubber, no confidence, save a little money, but you know you have to throw it away.  should have known since it was cheaper than it should have been......it's OK, took the loss, threw it away after a flat the first week, and better safe than sorry.

More to the point is Thailand’s Department of Intellectual Property using bootleg Windows OS ? ????

Good luck.

What about all the fake goods sold on the streets in Soi 6 Pattaya plus many other places such as Soi 4 Nana Plaza Bangkok, such as fake mobile phones, not forgetting the beaches and so on by the never ending harrassment by street vendors!

I use Lazada. If the price looks very cheap then usually you might want to wonder how it can be so.
