Pungdo
I was told this evening that my oldest friend of 50 years back home has finally succumbed to the brain tumours he has battled for the last 6 years or so. To be absolutely sure I get home in time for his funeral I think I will need to take the midnight flight on Sunday, so the big questions are: What hours are the Re-entry Permit office open at Swampy Just where is it and How long should I allow to get one ?? ubonjoe
The re-entry permit desk is open 24 hours a day. Allow about 20 minutes to get your re-entry permit. You will pay a service charge of 200 baht for them to do the form, photo and copies.

ubonjoe
It is located in immigration zone 2 after security just before the departure immigration desks.

lamyai3
When I went through recently they'd put a barrier up on zone 2, and were redirecting people to 1 and 3 (probably as the queues had built up inside or something). In case that happens, just mention "re-entry permit" to them and they'll let you in. After going through security and back down the stairs to the immigration desks, turn right, the desk is in the corner. It's a good idea to print out and complete the TM8 form first and have a photo ready (this saves 200 baht as well).
