Two Thai grannies nearly 90 years old said that their motivation to get fit in the gym was to be healthy and not be a burden on their relatives.

Netizens who viewed a clip of the pair pumping iron praised the grannies and said it should be motivation enough for the younger generation to get down the gym and lose some flab.

The clip was posted by "Coach Mai Thammasak" on Facebook and originated from "Somchai Gym" in Nakorn Pathom west of Bangkok.

The grannies were Thongphian, 89, and her pal Sa-art, 87.

Trainer and gym owner Professor Somchai is on hand to give the ladies the benefit of his professional guidance, reported Daily News.

Too late for me, my brain drowned a long time ago ????

More power to these ladies. We all should be doing this. If for no other reason , keep the brain moving.

I wish I could show this to my 83 yr old brother, but he's quit using the inet & email. He's just waiting for the last beat.

I'm 67, do aerobics and do resistance training regularly.  Should be more of it, especially beer gutted Thai females.

Never too late ????

Very important to do the excercise the right way, just pulling on some weight can do a lot of harm also, the professor should keep an eye on them.

But besides that, great for them to decide and be active.
