Asking for a friend. Heard that Savannakhet are now asking for bank statements for single entry tourist visas. Has anyone been recently and can confirm ?

They want to see a bank statement showing at least the equivalent of 20 baht in a bank.

Someone reported a few days ago that they were asked for a bank statement when applying for a non ‘O’. But the amount required in the account wasn’t specified. It may be a one off; time will tell.
