BobbyL
Apart from the usual places like Ikea, Central etc has anyone got any recommendations on places to visit with regards to buying furniture and designing kitchen / bedroom specs for a brand new house? Anywhere within Bangkok would be great. Thanks.

1FinickyOne
If you like handcarved wood and antique looks, make the trip to Baan Tawai outside of Chiang Mai... many stores and manufacturers.. not easy to see everything in one day... unusual items too. tutsiwarrior
homepro has got a lot of stuff including entire kitchens and super comfortable imported western beds but not cheap...about 18 years ago I was on my way to the airport and passed a place on the highway outside of Pathum Thani with solid rattan furniture on display out front and bought a deluxe lounge suite with sofa - big enough for a 6' falang to take a nap - 2 arm chairs and coffee table with good cushions, etc, that's still good as new after steady use with little kids and etc...not cheap though as the sales person saw a falang coming and etc...best to stay hidden in the car and let the wife negotiate... moontang
Can also start with some good indoor/outdoor furniture, and move it outside as you get better stuff.
