I intend applying for my second OA visa in London this July. I have done this before and have all the required paperwork. As last time I intended to use the monthly income route. However as of today because if the falling exchange rate my proven monthly income has fallen to about 63000 baht a month not the required 65000.

Is it possible for me to go the combined route and show 12 months at 63000 and show that the balance on the same bank account over the last 3 months remains above £3000 (118,000 baht) , giving the total as above 800,000 ?

Thanks for any advice

OA requires you to show money in your UK bank account doesn't it?
In that case, the exchange rate is irrelevant.

They convert it to baht from the U.K. bank figures. Income I show is £1600 a month. This needs to be equivalent to 65000 baht, so exchange rate is important sadly.

You can do a combination of income and money in the bank.

Quote
  • Bank statement or evidence of adequate finance for the past 3 months showing a deposit of the amount equal to and not less than 800,000 Baht (approximately £20,000.00) or an income certificate for the past 6 months with monthly income of not less than 65,000 Baht (approximately £1,625.00), or a deposit account plus a monthly income totalling not less than 800,000 Baht. If you send a copy of bank statement, the original reference letter from the banking concerned is necessary.

Don't forget the mandatory insurance that's supposed to be coming in on 1st July for new Non O/A applications. There's also the e-visa system supposed to be rolled out from mid June, not sure whether that's going to be delayed again. I'd recommend to apply for the visa as soon as possible if you can, before these changes happen.

You’re completely right. I’m just hoping there is a delay to the health insurance (reasonably likely). I can’t do it before July 6th so fingers crossed. I already have health insurance but it’s not government approved (even though the inpatient benefits are over £3 million) The government ones currently approved are terrible value for money and I don’t want to buy one yet). I have a back up plan of an ED visa as I was going to learn Thai this year anyway.

AFTER you get the O-A approved, could you please ask them about the insurance?
