Jingthing
On another thread someone mentioned something that I think is very true. There is way too much of the same same types of businesses around here: massage parlours go go bars hair/nail salon beer bars laundry basic Thai restaurant optical shop photo/camera shop Thai handicrafts Gold shop T shirts/cheap clothes Cheap luggage Cheap shoes etc. Go to most any part of town, and you see the same mix. Clearly, some real creativity is needed to make Pattaya an even more cosmopolitan city. So what ideas do people have for new business TYPES, that are really needed in Pattaya, to make the mix more interesting? I am hopelessly food obsessed, so my first ideas are Ethiopian restaurant and Peruvian restaurant, but this certainly isn't limited to food. Have any really original ideas? Jingthing
Doesn't have to be foreign owned. If we have good ideas, we can suggest to Thai friends/partners.
Ulysses G.
*Big and Tall clothing shops with decent stock. *CD shops with hard to get music like Tower records used to have. *Really nice imported cheese shops with all kinds of cheeses and cheese products like in Singapore. *Health food bakeries with all whole grain products and no refined sugar. *REAL health food stores with all healthy products instead of Thai style: a few healthy products and a bunch of junk with white sugar and white flour that has no place in a health food store. *Stores that sell very high quality exercise equipment and machines like that in the best gyms. *Good quality, imported, fruit and vegetable juicers *Difficult to find books about macrobiotics, raw diets, fasting, etc. *Chinese Restaurants that aren't Thai-ized * Chocolate shops with premium, imported chocolates and so on... johnong
A decent camera shop rather than a chain of shops selling limited stock and printing services... A cheese shop would be very nice too!
