webfact
Commerce Ministry releases May 2019 inflation figures BANGKOK (NNT) - Products and services pricing and the inflation rate in May 2019 have continued to rise within 0.7-1.7 percent margin projected by the Ministry of Commerce, due to higher pricing of fresh food and public transportation. The Ministry of Commerce’s Trade Policy and Strategy Office (TPSO) Director General Pimchanok Vonkorpon has released May 2019 inflation figures where the pricing of 233 out of 422 products have been increased, particularly in food and non-alcoholic beverages where the pricing has been raised by 2.83 percent. Grocery items affected from higher pricing include fresh vegetables such as scallion, fresh chili peppers, and pork due to hot climate and the beginning of rainy season affecting farming, and 5.63 percent increase of public transportation fares in Bangkok by the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority, and in other provinces by the Transport Company. Energy and fuel pricing which have been reduced four times contributed to 1.15 percent inflation growth in May 2019, which shoes a slower trend than the previous month at 1.23 percent. The overall inflation rate in 2019’s first five months is at 0.92 percent increase, well within projected margin by the Ministry of Commerce. Pricing of products in 91 categories remains stable, while pricing of products in 98 categories have been reduced such as tangerine, rambutan, and fuel. The projected stable product and service pricing and good consumption power, in keeping with a balanced demand and supply, will help maintain this year’s overall inflation growth to be within 0.7-1.7 percent, at the average of 1.2 percent. -- © Copyright nnt 2019-06-05 Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking Thailand news and visa info
Cadbury
Prayut and his junta can be thanked for that continued rise in inflation. After all it was him that jacked up the bus fares after the election. So much for any pretence he cares for the lower income people; It is the rich elite the junta works for.

Whereas Thaksin the Innocent and Yingluck the honest were so benevolent. Miking the Thai people for years with inflated prices on the monopoly phone and telecom service business, then flogging it and changing the law so they could avoid tax. Buses are still very cheap, so are taxis and motor cycle taxes. 1
