Video: Drama at the klong as woman grabs hammer to help save boy

Caption: I've got a hammer na phee!

A video posted to Facebook showed a pick-up flowing away down a klong.

A boy was trapped inside and people who had stopped to help were frantic.

A woman in a car calls out: "I've got a hammer".

The boy is soon carried out to safety through a side back window of the vehicle.

ONB News said that a father and his son had been in the car. They were both fine.

The car was not going fast and had rolled once before ending up in the canal.

They said it was a warning to everyone to drive safely - especially in the rainy season.

Like a death toll of 25,000+ per year isn't warning enough !!

No-one cares, least of all anyone in a position to change things....

So the father got out and left his son inside? Surely the boy should have been first priority?

A little known fact is that Headrests on pretty much all modern day cars can be removed and used in an emergency to break the windows from the inside. Some even have sharpened points fitted to them for this purpose. Also, the windows themselves are designed to be easier to break from the inside. These are purposely designed safety features that every vehicle owner should know.

You could also use the metal tag/latch of the seatbelt to break a window
