BANGKOK, 8 June 2019(NNT) - The Ministry of a Digital Economy and Society (DE) has organized an activity for its senior officials to meet members of the news media. The Minister of a Digital Economy and Society emphasized the advances in the MDES’s performance especially the Pracharat Internet which allows people in all communities to access technology to generate income. He has called on the new government to continue the work to develop the country’s digital infrastructure.

Digital Economy and Society Minister Pichet Durongkhaweroj, insisted today that the government has successfully established internet infrastructure for the country. The Pracharat Internet project uses the digital system to help generate income and develop people in the communities. The MDES has also issued 10 laws to regulate the business sector and safety aspects. It has also enhanced the government sector’s efficiency with the use of digital advances. There are also agencies which are responsible for Big Data, Cloud Service and One-Stop Service. It is now necessary to implement the structure that has been devised especially aspects of human development as well as the Smart City project.

He has called on the newly announced government to continue the ongoing projects in order to maximize economic and social benefits.

Should think about moving out of the Stoneage first !

There a Ministry of Digital Economy and Society?

I'm having trouble figuring out what they do and how many employees there could possibly be doing it.

Thailand and the digital age 555. You can't even change your internet package online. You always need to call call and call. Everything works so inefficient here.

Does that guy really think with giving them internet, they can start up a business and make money? Without any business skills (let alone E commerce knowledge), computer skills and even most without a computer at all?

I can guess for what the internet connection will be used on their smartphones and that will not be accessing technology, but more likely accessing certain websites 555

This project is nothing more than executing expensive sale deals to cream off commissions.

If Thailand is serious to move into the digital age, they should start to make ALL government services accessible online and provide all inhabitants with a digital id for all these services.
