Police have arrested 13 gamblers at an illegal gambling den in Patong.

Police received a tip-off that there was an illegal gambling den on Nanai Road in Patong. Police checked out the situation and then raided the gambling den on Nanai Road yesterday. Police arrested 13 gamblers, well at least the ones they were able to capture. Some of the people inside the den were able to escape.

Police seized illegal gambling paraphernalia and 18,390 baht in cash. The gamblers were taken to Patong Police Station to face legal action.

Big story with many pictures of a crime-scene, that you can find in every neighborhood in the country.

Go get some real criminals that steal your tax-money  and start with some politicians Cowards! what a police-force that country has! Shame!

Just wondering how some of those local cops live and interact with their neighbors.  Sometimes cops are appreciated, sometimes not.  Here in the US it is hit or miss as to what neighborhood actually wants a cop living there.  Just wondering how the locals feel about local cops, especially when local "crimes" such as this happen.  The old saying "never a cop when you need one" also is sometimes turned around and people don't want a cop anywhere around as they feel they get enough oversight, are worried about every tiny little infraction, or whatever

Thirteen arrested, a few more escaped out the back, and 18K Baht taken.....Hardly high stakes at probably less then a thousand per head.

I appreciate that gambling is illegal here, unless it is called "Government Lottery", but it is hardly major crime syndicate, and goes on every night in every village.

As post #3 pointed out, go get some real criminals who are stealing millions.........
