The head of Thailand's crimes against children group has announced the arrest of four people people preying on children.

Among those arrested are a US pensioner, a Thai ladyboy and a Thai teacher in Nonthaburi.

Lt-Gen Sanchai Sunthonburana - chief of TICAC (Thailand Internet Crimes Against Children) - revealed four cases but only the American was named.

Dean Richard March, aged 70, was arrested on a warrant in Chiang Mai for having indecent images of children in his possession.

A ladyboy given the assumed name "Chang" faces 5 years in jail for extorting money from children by threatening to post indecent images of them online. He is admin of a chat group.

In the third case "Chai" was arrested in Phunphin, Surat Thani, for being in possession of child porn.

Finally in Nonthaburi a teacher named only as "Phurin" has admitted to being in possession of child pornography and sharing images. He was arrested in Tiwanon Road and faces 7 years in jail, reported Thai Rath.

Elsewhere it was reported that a man named only as "Kamonsak" on Facebook had been arrested for tricking underage girls into sending him nude images.

He had posed as being a scout for models and has now been charged with human trafficking related offences. Fifty girls some as young as 13 were involved.

I know that those arrested need to front the courts and be convicted, but why name the aged pensioner, but only pseudonyms  for the others?

His name is Kamonsak and was a graphic designer for a TV station not a teacher.

Because the American is the only one that's going to take the fall. Obviously none of these other mentioned people would have been involved in such a thing if not for the foreigner.

Who showed "sympathy" ?

Merely asking why two different rules apply

All arrested should be treated equally.

Because the farang had his passport with him (at his home) while the 2 Thais didn't have any ID with them and their identity need to be confirmed... ? :ermm:

Of course I don't know, but this scenario already happened in previous articles about arrests...

The guy is disgusting.

You are right, when these topics come up there are always detractors and excuse makers for the perv.

IE: They were set up, someone planted the images on their computer, it is all a lie and unfair blah blah.

Makes one wonder......

Have not read any posts expressing sympathy

TV is overflowing with criminal farangs news today. British murderer, American pensioner with no visa, and now this child trafficer. Remember, those who get caught are just the tip of the iceberg.

Whew!  For a minute there, I thought they were going to tell me the U.S. guy was Joe Biden.

What a relief.

Why name anybody until they are charged and appear in court? If they want victims to come forward, they should fully name all of them, otherwise naming serves no

purpose until they are convicted and sentenced.

It's implicit.

How?

Why cant there be equal disgust for all. At the moment only the american is getting the digust from people who may know him. The others are not receiving the same as they are not named.

But i dont think any of them should be named until convicted. These types of offences carry far too much hate that will not be releived if not guilty.

Simply being charged, even if not guilty seems to be enough. As your post attests to.

Well this is Thailand, protect their own. Or they have not charged the others.

Hang them all high until they are dead

when the american gets out of Thai prison he'll probably spend time in an american prison if he lives long enough

Of course.

For the Thais involved it will end up being a big misunderstanding of they have money.

Assuming he’s even guilty, he still deserves the same treatment as the locals.

Being charged for a crime doesn’t mean you’re guilty of said crime and it certainly doesn’t mean you should be treated differently than others charged for the same crime simply because you’re from another country.

I think it may have something to do with the fact that the one guy who was named is a foreigner, whereas the three unnamed suspects are all Thais....

Inquiring minds might wonder, why do the Thai police operate that way?

Do you want a trial to test their guilt? Or just some extra judicial executions?
