I tried Miracid but its not as effective and i prefer a proton pump inhibitor to antacids. because i need to take them every day over the long term, something Miracid is not made for. It is omeprazole and just as suited for daily use as Nexium (though prolonged use of any PPI has side effects/potential down side).Nexium is esomeprazole. There is no generic version yet.
