Walking Street vendors pushed back off pavement

Featured Replies

Re photo....it may be just a small angle shot but Pattaya doesn't look a very inviting sort of place.

The concrete pylon looks like its sustained several airstrikes.

  • Anybody see the fun in this? They are trying to push vendors away from the side walks of a walking street, Hillarious!

  • True. The media here feebly report what they're told to report.   I've never seen any news article where the reporter ever asked, "How come you're doing it again this year - the same as ever

  • And they'll be back in the same positions again in...I'll give it a week. No no, what I am on about? 72 hours, tops.

What sidewalks ???

Can't Thailand not do anything right

Yes. The photo in the OP is hilarious. The "sidewalk" isn't wide enough for a normal farang to walk on, and that big concrete thing in the foreground is a power pole, which is doing a better job of obstructing than the stall.

After 6 pm of course no one needs to use the sidewalk anyway.

More likely it's the regular businesses complaining about the unregulated, illegal stalls obstructing their business, for which they pay city hall.
