Police hunt for mastermind behind alleged trafficking of Rohingya to Malaysia

 

 

Police are looking for a man suspected of masterminding the trafficking of 65 Rohingya from Myanmar to Malaysia by boat. Their modified fishing boat broke down and beached on Rawi Island, off Thailand’s southernmost province of Satun on June 11th.

 

A police colonel, who reportedly purchased the boat in an auction held by the Customs Department and subsequently sold it to a Myanmar man, may be summoned for questioning, according to police sources. The sources added that the police handling the case had contacted the regional harbour office for information about the ownership of the vessel after an intelligence report indicated it used to be owned by a police colonel.

 

The sources said that the skipper of the boat, Mr. Sangkhom Papa, and five Myanmar crew members, had implicated a man, identified only as Bung Om, for offering them 100,000 baht to take the 65 Rohingya to Malaysia by boat.

The last investigation against traffickers, after mass graves were found on the thai-malesia border, with some 2k corpses, ended up with 85 high ranking government, police and military officers. Police general leading an investigation had to run away to australia and claim there political emigrant status, after prayuth tried to post him to active duties from bangkok to south, where he would be assassinated within days.

Have they checked Thai navy?

Methinks that the translation or code for the Thai Police statement; "Inactive Posts" is the transfer to the southern border war zone with Malaysia of disciplined police officers which begs the question is it a punishment or reward?

This problem along with the fighting being reignited in Burma (ethnic cleansing) should

be discussed & action taken at the ASEAN summit at present being held with all the fanfare 

& back slappng  in Bangkok. As usual ASEAN the toothless tiger will avoid doing anything.

It has to be the most useless thing in the world maybe except the Popes balls

Prayuth asked that Officer in Australia to "Come and have a chat".  The response was "let's try something like Skype" But Nooo - Prayuth wanted him on Thai turf.  The officer refused. - - - Makes you wonder how high the rot goes - - - -
