We rarely get any follow up to these  condo "suicides".

No CCTV? no visitors in the room?

Always a suicide or accident.

If a bar girl dies in one of these situations police swarm on the scene and soon enough have a farang suspect  in custody.

Money.

sure police can trey to squeeze a farang even if innocent. japanese women would also be a viable money source

It is rare to get "follow up" on any criminal cases here including balcony falls.

You need to understand the power dynamic in the relationship between the police and the press. Journalists here simply parrot what the police press release states. They often follow the police and "rescue services" around and simply report on the initial scene provided the police give them the go-ahead and a statement/press release.

The press here generally DO NOT go out and seek those involved in the incident to report their version. It may conflict with the police version of events and the press do not want to spoil their relationship with the police.

The police here raise revenue through all parties they interact with, victims, criminals, innocent suspects, businesses in their jurisdiction, householders in their jurisdiction, dead people. They often close incidents through compensation payments or bribes not to investigate. They do not want their world to be transparent, in fact, just the opposite.

I agree, especially when every Thai I know tells me that they don't believe their news, and don't even pay attention to the news because they know it's fake news...

Why is any follow up needed on any deaths in Thailand? They are always solved with a in a instant "it appears" investigation. Done and over with in a matter of seconds.

Solved by TV posters, irrespective of any first hand evidence
