Inbound Transfer Received In Usd?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I'm trying to find out if there is a way that I can get USD transferred into Thailand and receive the cash in USD. I'm trying to avoid a transfer that goes USD-THB-USD because the money will not be spent here. Any suggestions to avoid the loss of exchange rate?

Thanks!

Open a US$ account at a bank like HSBC.

You would need to open a USD account with a Thai bank

and then instruct your US bank to transfer the funds into that

account in US Dollars.

Naka.

Thank you for the quick replies. I was hoping to avoid the hastle of opening an account and looking for a quick (potentially one-time) solution like Western Union, but alas, they only pay out in THB.

It seems like opening the account in USD might be the way to go, if other transfer services aren't available. Do you know what the requirements are for openning an HSBC account, and do you know if SCB (my current bank) offers USD accounts?

Thanks!
