The Office of Vacational Education Commission (OVEC) on Tuesday held a workshop to finalise the development and updates for the “Por Wor Sor vocational diploma 2019” curriculum to better cater to the labour market’s demands around the world.

The new course will be implemented in the academic year 2020.

OVEC deputy secretary-general Prachakhom Chantharachit, who presided over the workshop in Bangkok, said the curriculum was assessed by his staff and vocational colleges every five years at least to keep it up to date.

Tuesday’s workshop was the final opportunity for the Por Wor Sor vocational diploma 2019 to be revised, the aim being to ensure that the students were delivered the best knowledge and skills in their future careers, Prachakhom said.

Three sessions had already been held to assess the 11 subjects that students of the Por Wor Chor courses had to learn. These were; business administration; arts; home economics; agriculture; fisheries; tourism industry; textile industry; manufacturing industry; information and communication technology; maritime; and entertainment business and music.
