The metaphor should have addressed the fate of the rats on said ship, and rtas as we all know ump swim and board another ship...

And this ship is over-run with feral mentally retarded rats.

Surely the rust is the old guard, unelected former NCPO members who shouldn't be anywhere near the cabinet of a democratically elected government. And many people really would like to get rid of that

And that's its current state, it can only get worse.

What's going to be the name of this ship, Titanic?

I believe that most of the old government will also be the new! That means, no big change!

yes, titanic springs to mind.

I will play some calming music Nearer, My God, To Thee and some angry sex pistols god save the queen

I've been referring it as the Thai-tanic.

Rust on a ship always starts on the inside.....this "ship" of a government is riddled with rust and dry rot!

The old term, "you can't make strawberry jam out of horse sh$t" is very apt!

How many deputy Prime Minister's are  there? I thought Prawit was the Deputy Prime Minister.

According to the "unofficial" line-up in the Bangkok Post today, there are 5 deputy PMs with all the old gang back for another round of fun and frivolity. Looks like this lot are rusted on, it is time for a dry dock and full scrape and clean.

It’s not just here, it’s all over the world now!

So from ‘By the people For the people’ to ‘Not by the people Carried by the people’.

I will give the ship 6 months before it will sink and rats bail.

That's a Ham-fisted attempt at humour; you should be asHemed of yourself.  You will be deported to Japheth.

The PM purchased Chinese submarines so they won’t sink.

This government will be as seaworthy as The Phoenix that sank off Phuket killing all those Chinese. Unfortunately far more people are likely to be impacted by this capsize.

The Phoenix

a large steel ship, carrying both people and cargo, which can go rusty and sink if the rust is ignored.

CORRECTION: It is already rusty AND sinking. And the people on board are doing a piss-poor patch job.

The Phoenix was gonna be my choice!  :coffee1:

I wonder how long it took him to come up with this analogy and if he has any sort of print out board where he can illustrate it during a press release.

As he volunteered to mention rust, yes definitely, that comes to mind when you see these dinosaurs.

If this stillborn government is the best that "Thai Niyom"-style "democracy" can deliver, it will be a long way to world domination.

Sorry if I hurt your religious feelings. But it could have been worse. First I thought to recommend Wissanu should turn to the guy who claimed he walked on water…

If this were the Olympics, the judges would call it 2 out of 3 for the puns, but let's be honest: Japheth has an almost impossible degree of difficulty.  That's one hard landing to stick.

Wait, what were we talking about again?  Oh yeah, some random dinosauric Thai imbecile with a punchable face and some thrift-store chest medals on his Captain SoldierMan Halloween costume.

I'll stay in PunLand if it's all the same to y'all, thanks.

Belated edit: I notice he's not actually wearing his Halloween costume in the photo.  Mea culpa, they all start to look and sound the same to me, regardless of what they're wearing.

The danger with analogies and metaphors is that the interpretation can be the exact opposite from that intended.

Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam has likened the new government, which is yet to be set up, to a large steel ship, carrying both people and cargo, which can go rusty and sink if the rust is ignored.

Make it out of wood then .. or copper bottom it like they used to .. and it'll slip thru' the water easier if you do that ..

"Taken cared for" Why can't they get journalists that can write,? If not cared for or If not taken care of!

And Noah was the world's greatest financier- he floated company when the world was in liquidation! What a guy. ????

The Kingdom could do with people like that?

And the P.M. would be just the man to take care of the Government to make sure it doesn't sink? ????  Hmmm....I thought so.

Its just the problem that all want the best post in the government that makes the best money. It's an elected government but it's still under the military rulers. So far from democracy.

But well if they look to Europe, they learn how to block everything. Just the corruption thing is different
