BANGKOK (NNT) - The Prime Minister has expressed his concerns about expected thunderstorms and extensive rainfall in Thailand, and has ordered all provinces to provide immediate assistance to villagers when needed. Meanwhile, he assured the public that he always follows up on the outcomes of parliamentary meetings.

The Deputy Government Spokesman Lt Gen Werachon Sukondhapatipak revealed today that the Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has expressed his concerns for members of the general public living in areas affected by thunderstorms and heavy rain in this period, especially in the northern, northeastern, central, and eastern regions.

Mudslides, collapsing utility poles, and road accidents have been reported due to recent poor weather. The general public is advised to exercise caution and closely follow weather forecasts and alerts from the Meteorological Department.

The Prime Minister has urged all provinces affected by tropical storm Mun which is causing continuous heavy rain in places, to monitor the situation, issue alerts to residents when necessary, and provide assistance to all people affected by the downpours.

The deputy government spokesman said the Prime Minister is now occupied with meetings to expedite national development projects and solve pressing public issues. He has however been following live broadcasts of parliamentary meetings to gather input from all members, in order to take material action on beneficial suggestions.

For the last 2 days here in Uttaradit we have had sweet FA rain apart from the occasional very light shower and so far today doesn't look like being any different and satellite isn't showing much either over most of Thailand .

rain moving west to east northeast now. slight drizzle in Hua Hin.

I think he does not even look at any rain radar or weather map (other then made by Thai's). If he even can find it.

I have a feeling that it is because it is supposed to be the "rainy" season. He should be insisting on even more rainfall.

Exactly! or at least directing it to the areas where it is most needed!

Always the thinker!!!!!!!

Rain what rain we have not had nearly as much as we usually get in Rangsit

Could be viewed as a bit of a faux pas considering there are many who are awaiting rain to save the rice crops, and right now, the more rain the better for many farmers

He's not concerned ... this is just him trying to ingratiate himself and show concern for the "villagers" who he really doesn't give a flying #$@% about.

He should be more concerned about the fact that he hasn't been able to form a cabinet yet and his side-kick thugs who are going around beating up pro-democracy activists.

He has done nothing about stopping the floods and mudslides caused by de-forestation in all the time he has been in charge.  So why should he care now ? He is not really concerned. Its just his way of passing any blame to the local authorities.  Does it all the time.

I predict flooding with ten minutes of a heavy rain.

He is so concerned and requesting others help, this lazy toe rag will do nothing himself

During the smoky season in Chiangmai he did come up here and ordered the burning to stop in seven days.....you have to give him some credit

After the Red Sea trick the little general shouldn't have any problem diverting the excess water to other areas, just wave his swagger stick and all will be done.

Buck Banana not been one bit concerned on water management for last 5yrs, he done sweet FA on water management besides rain making lol ,
Water management is in need of massive development and it falling decades behind needs ...

Lots of clouds, little drizzle showers ... we need some rain!

I suppose Prayut and Canute have a lot in common.

I think Prayut is heeding POTUS Trump's warning: rain is very wet!

A bit off topic I have dams on my property and am told it illegal to to have a dam any deeper than 2.5 meters, does anyone know about this law
