1.6M cases involving foreign nationals on non detained docket & The Austin ,TX shooting.

Roughly 1.6m people remain on ICE’s non detained docket with final removal orders, meaning they have exhausted their court process yet have not left the country. Many of these individuals simply ignore the order and continue living and working in the USA until located.

Even those who previously filed for asylum are still subject to ICE enforcement once a final order is issued,especially after missing hearings,as illustrated by the recent Austin, TX case in which a Venezuelan foreign national with a final removal order was the subject of an ICE encounter. That being said after being stopped he fled in his vehicle after ICE agents identified themselves and told him he was under arrest.
