Best Crossing for Border Bounce?

Featured Replies

Please share recent experience with "border bounce"

Friend of mine needs to do one. She's got one 30 day stamp which has already been extended. I want to know which is the best land border to send her to (any Malaysia/Loas crossings).

FYI she'll be going to Penang for a proper visa next month but she doesn't have all the required papers yet.

Thanks!

Where is she located? Any reason for Laos or Malaysia (at opposite ends of the country) rather than, say, Myanmar which would be cheaper and usually less hassle depending on where she would be travelling from.

She's  near Surat Thani.

Malaysia is closest, but Laos seems to be the easiest for crossing.

Myanmar could also be an option.  Which crossing would you recommend?

Ranong is a good crossing to Myanmar from Surat Thani.
