If you are doing in Bangkok would suggest you visit photo copy places across the street on your way in to have the required copies made, as they normally know what is required.

Photo (scanned and printed on b+w A4 is ok) of your house with the number if posible.

You could put a photo of the three of you together.

Documents re spouse income if she has filed her PND 90/1 for 2549 then take that along to show last years income and tax otherwise payslips for the the last three months (try and include the y/r end bonus if salary is borderline).

The extension of stay is on income of THB40K/mth there is no need for bank details.

What did you get from your embassy?

There is as very good post by Sunbelt some where. Try a search for sunbelt visa skim through them.

I showed the embassy a tenancy agreement for my house (uk) with payment records from the council (local government in uk) showing how much I get from the house, no bank statements though. They gave me a letter saying just that, which the guy said may be a bit weak but if I could back it up at immi with my Thai bank book showing 40,000 per month being put in to it for the last 3 months it would do.

The wife has a letter from the MD of her company stating salary.

Total monthly is 55,000BHT.(combined)

going to take a few wedding photos as well.

You'll also need a copy of your wifes house registration and her ID card. Take the originals of everything along as well.

Good luck.

You will need your wife to go with you and the following:

1. Copy of Household Registration of Thai Wife.

2. Copy of Identification Card of Thai Wife.

3. Copy of Marriage Certificate

4. Statement of guarantee of pension income from your Embassy that you have an income of at least Baht 40,000 per month or letter of guarantee from a foreign employer, that you are a employee, salary, position, years worked or proof of this Thai income by you or your wife with the last three months of Phor Ngor Dor.1 (Personal Income tax form filed on a monthly basis) and Phor Ngor Dor.91 ( Filed on a yearly basis in March)

5.Copy of birth certificates of children. (if any)

6.Photo of place of residence. (show house’s number)

7.Map and telephone’s number of place of residence.

8.If working, a letter of guarantee from your employer. A copy of work permit as well if working in Thailand.

9. Photos of your wife clothes and your clothes in the same closet, picture of your wife and you sitting on a living room sofa and pictures of the wedding. (This is not required if you have a birth certificate of children together.)

10. Application form TM 7 with 2x2 inch square photo’s attached.

11. A valid passport

12.If married overseas, the marriage certificate must be certified at the local Embassy of the country where the marriage took place, and it must be translated and certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This must then by certified by the District Office where the Thai spouse has their household registration.

13. If granted the extension of stay prior to 1st Oct 2006, the applicant can use the option of 400,000 Baht in the bank.

14. In the case of the foreigner who has entered Thailand and has been granted to stay temporarily before Oct 1st 2006, they may be eligible for an exemption to the new rule of 40K income per month but this is only on a case by case basis.

Now this sounds interesting...

What are some examples of the criteria that would apply here?

Does this Apply to issuance of an Non-"B" with Work Permit, that has since been replaced by series of 30 day "B"s without WP?

How can a "case" be made to get this exemption?

Has this criteria been replaced with any other, or under this exemption have all demands for financial reporting been dropped all together?

Thanks, as usual,

You might be grand fathered to the 400k bank requirement instead of the 40k income

Well... That then would REALLY Suck... I'd much rather have the 40K... 400K is a dream not yet in my forseeable future.

As the new rule is 40k the grandfatherred is only an option that some find easier to use.

By the way for your info I do not make the rules........so please don't bite the messenger !
