Overnight Required?

Featured Replies

I think I know the answer to this but as this will be my first visa run I would like to double check. I have a 12 month multiple entry Non-O Visa. Can I do a visa run on the same day or do I need to stay overnight?

Thanks

Same Day.

Just need to stamp out of Thailand, in and out of another country, then stamp back into Thailand to get your new 90 day stamp. You must stamp in and out of another country, thai immigration will not stamp you back into Thailand unless the see you have been into another country (some people think they can stamp out of thailand and back in whitout getting stamped in and out of the other country.

You will only need between 30mins and 2 hours to spend at the border, depending where you go................

Have fun............

Thank you thats useful. Can I ask another question? I'm based in BKK and I was thinking of spending a weekend in Trat and just crossing over the border to Cambodia on the Sunday afternoon to get my Visa renewed. If this is a sensible idea, do you know of a good place to cross?

Not sure about Trat.

Ban Laem is a border in the Chantaburi province. Visa runi services go there from between 1700 and 2000 THB, hassle free and rerlaxing for you.

You can do it yourself in Poipet for only afew hundred baht plus the cost of the cambodia visa, but if this is your first time, it could be confusing.............

I did that about a year ago. From Trat you need to take a minibus or songtheaw to a place called Koh Kong. It's about an hour away from Trat. You can simply cross into Cambodia, then return immediately to Thailand.

The Cambodian side was pretty insistant on taking an extra 300 baht since I came and went on the same day, but I was able to haggle them down to 200.
