I was at the local bookstore on the weekend and noticed a sign that

announced the new Harry Potter Book was to be released in Thailand on 21 May

and it was on preorder for ฿850 instead of the recommended ฿1,000 so I put

in my order. The shop assistant took my details and advised that there were

three versions:

a) the English publication

:D the Children's edition

c) the American version

I asked what the differences were and she explained that the English version

was the complete edition. The childrens version had been edited to remove

some of the occult references, used shorter words, and had a simpler plot to

make it easier for them to understand. What about the American edition I

asked, she replied that they used the Children's version and just added

pictures.
