webfact
Two BMA deputy governors appointed By The Nation Bangkok Metropolitan Administration governor Aswin Kwanmuang on Tuesday appointed two new deputies to replace the two who resigned earlier this week. Aswin signed an order of the BMA governor to appoint Sakchai Boonma and Sophon Pisutthiwong as deputy governors, replacing Chakkraphan Phiewngam and Thaweesak Lerpraphan with immediate effect. The copy of order was sent to reporters on Wednesday. Thaweesak Lerpraphan submitted his resignation to Aswin on Tuesday after being assigned to oversee the Bt13-billion project to build two garbage incinerators in the Nong Khaem and On Nuj areas. On Monday, Chakkraphan resigned as deputy governor after a company filed a complaint that the project’s terms of reference were drafted in favour of a certain bidder. The complaint is now being investigated by the National Anti-Corruption Commission and the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission. Where does he find the replacements - does he keep them in a magicians black bag somewhere, to be pulled out as necessary?
