My flight would arrive in Hat Yai at 7:30pm and I would like to make it to Penang that night, is it possible via bus, minibus or a shared taxi? egghead Posted June 1, 2004 Share Posted June 1, 2004 Never travelled to Penang at night and I'm not sure that the border closes at !0pm. Seems very late to me. Call the Malaysian Embassy and ask them what time the border closes. If you stay in Hatyai the night and leave on a mini bus or taxi early in the morning you should still make it to the Thai Consulate before 12 to lodge your visa application if that is the purpose of your visit.
