Hi all,

 

I can recommend HCM if you are looking for a non immigrant O visa. Dropped my passport off yesterday morning at 08.45. There was only 2 others there when I arrived and they saw me straight away. Went to pick it up today at 13.30 and 5 people in front of me in the queue when I arrived at 13.27. Only had to wait 5 minutes for them to deal with the people before me and then I got my passport back with a shiny new visa in it. 

 

In addition to the minimum  required docs, I included a Thai bank statement and copy of my son's birth certificate which they added to my application.  

 

One difference I noted is that there is no last entry allowed date, just a valid from and valid to date which is different to previous visas. I don't know if this is a HCM consulate thing, of if they just changed the format.

 

Spending a few days break with the family here beats the crap out of staying in Savannaket where there is nothing to do.

I did mine on monday same experience. All done under 5 minutes.

Does your visa just have an expiry date instead of last entry allowed date on it?

Yes of course it only has a valid until date. it´s like that with all the single entry Non-O visas.

 

1. I have a multiple entry visa

 

2. This is the 1st visa I've had with just an expiry date rather than a last entry allowed date and I'm on my 5th visa now.

Enter before only exists on Multiple Entry Non-O visas

Ok, got it. Strange. Then they probably changed

Ok. Not complaining about it anyway, was just curious if it was a new thing or just a HCMthing.

I have VALID UNTIL on my new visa, all other visas were ENTER BEFORE.

we will see it in one year if we can arrive a couple of days before the visa expires and get another 90days. 

Just check mine issue yesterday at Savannakhet. Same things now : Valid until no more enter before.....hum

No

I also did mine on Wednesday easy peasy
they even wrote my wife’s name as contact on the visa for some reason

No problem getting another 90 days before this (Saigon Thai Consulate) visa expired.

It is same as my ME O-A visa from Washington DC.

It isn't required, but they do advise to add any extra documents to support your visa application and I had that available, so included it as well as my son's birth cert

So they also issue non o multi entry based on marriage with no financial requirements?

I thought that was only possible in Savannakhet.

Yes they do, same as Savannakhet, but much less of a shithole to spend the night at.
