Primary schools to start teaching coding: deputy education minister

A lot of bigoted/misinformed posts on this thread. Only one post mentioned tools related to "coding" (e.g. Kodable).

For those in the dark, "coding" does not mean developing software in Python, C++, Java, etc... especially in the context of elementary school children. It pertains to the development of cognitive skills by applying logic to solve a problem (typically in the format of a game/puzzle).

Seems they've reappropriated the word since I started coding in z80 assembly back in the early 80's then. Looks like a millenial soft core video game now, wussies.

Not in the US; almost everyone uses the word programming instead, or better yet, software development.

While English teaching is top-notch and need no further improvement.

Oh yes, coding is much more important.

Of course, who will tell the authorities that most coding is done, surprise!, In English and not in Tinglish

Thai logic differ slightly from what is seen as logic.

Why the constant argument for English????

Coding is about logic... there seems to be many TVF members that lack logic, and yet want the Thai to possess such. Talk about hypocrisy.
