March 18, 200719 yr Hi, Tomorrow, I go with my friend to pick up a used car she has bought. What is needed to register it in her name? She is Thai. Does she just require her ID card? She has a Tambien Baan from her home in Udon. Is this required, and is it ok to register in CM even though her Tambien Baan What are the associated costs of transference in CM? If further documentation other than ID card/Tambien Baan is required, what documentation should we get off the seller in order to transfer ownership without the last owner present? Thanks Phil PS - As this may be different in different provinces, I have posted this here. Thanks mods. Edited March 18, 200719 yr by mallmagician

March 18, 200719 yr Author Hi Ta22, The car is already taxed and insured, so its merely a transfer of ownership needed. How much does this cost? Incidentally, its a 1975 1.6 Toyota Cresta if this helps? Thanks for the info, Phil
March 18, 200719 yr i got alot of classic cars and 3 of it is 1973-1976 toyota celica . insurance should be about 800-1k tranfer fee should be about 1.2k-1.5 k. you can also go to the office right off handong road - at the office - i think there is a table where this lady can help you fill up the form . you got to process it at two counter .. my advcie is go early . you might need to inspect your car again and proof of the engine number and stuff which take you a while cos the insepction Q is usually long .. my advice is go as early as you can 8:30 am or does it open at 9 am should not cost you too much . bring cash cos you need to pay up in advance . that all i can think off i migth miss out something . but bring like 5k - and ID card and maybe what you said some of the other doc you think you need . should not be a huge problem .. bring some food if you want . and your own drink . kind ahard to find drink and food there . and only some lady selling fruit . --- park your car near the Insepction Q at the back of the building . i am not sure if you can join the Q first , but if you can do it .. save you alot of time
