Im married to a Thai, and planning to apply for a permanent residency status there in near future. As of the moment, Im working in Singapore, and will make Thailand as my home base, since, my family is there. Since my maximum stay in thailand is just less than a month (applicable for a free tourist visa), is the plan for applying PR in the near future is a valid reason to apply a non -immigrant type O visa?even though just staying less than 1 month in every vacation I have, say 6 times a year? What is this 90 day validity type O visa, does it mean, that I need to extend it for a year and pay again such hefty amount .Is there such thing as multiple entry type O visa valid for 1 year?I called the thai embassy here in SIngapore only to be told by a singlish speaking lady to inquire in bangkok instead(shes singaporean not thai), I told her to resign her job, she was furious, lol.

From what you have described I think you have zero chance of getting permanent residency status in Thailand (at least in the near future). I have never looked into it myself, but as far as remember being reported here, you need to have lived in Thailand on extensions for at least three uninterrupted years.

I could be totally wrong though (it has been known to happen).

This is correct.

At least 3 continuous years on Non Imm visa, PLUS a record of paying tax in the Kingdom.

I suggest you read this comprehensive dissertation. :o
