Crime Woman Injured in Late-Night Brawl on South Pattaya Street
Picture courtesy of SiamRath A 23-year-old woman was left injured in the early hours of 29 July, after allegedly being assaulted by two other women following a drunken confrontation on South Pattaya Road. Emergency services were called to the scene at around 03:00, after receiving reports of a street brawl outside a nightlife venue. Rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation arrived to find Ms Mintra, 23, bleeding heavily from a head wound. She had a gash above her left eyebrow and blood streaming down her face. She was given first aid at the scene before being transferred to a local hospital for further treatment. According to the victim, she had been drinking heavily at a nearby bar with friends and was walking back after clinking glasses with another group when the incident occurred. Two women at a neighbouring table accused her of bumping into their bag without apologising. A verbal argument quickly escalated into violence, with Ms Mintra claiming she was attacked and beaten by the pair before bystanders intervened and called emergency services. Police from Pattaya City Police Station attended the scene and conducted preliminary inquiries. Officers advised Ms Mintra to file an official complaint so that legal proceedings could be initiated to identify and prosecute those responsible. An investigation is now underway, after she filed the complaint. Adapted by Asean Now from SiamRath 2025-07-30- 1

Community Woman in Critical Condition After Apparent Suicide Attempt in Pathum Thani
Picture courtesy of SiamRath. A 44-year-old woman is in critical condition after allegedly shooting herself in the chest at her home in Khlong Luang district late on the morning of 29 July. A handwritten suicide note blaming her father over financial issues was recovered at the scene. At approximately 11:30, police at Khlong Luang Police Station were alerted to a shooting incident in Soi Khotchasarn 1/3, Moo 18, Khlong Nueng subdistrict. Investigators, led by Pol.Lt. Adisak Kochasak and Pol.Sub.Lt. Weera Sukchana, arrived at the single-storey house accompanied by local patrol officers, detectives and rescue personnel from Tha Khlong Municipality. Inside a bedroom, officers found Ms Patcharin, 44, lying on a bed with a gunshot wound above her left breast. A homemade firearm of unknown calibre was discovered beside her and taken into evidence. She was still alive and was swiftly transferred by municipal rescue workers to Thammasat University Hospital. A one-page handwritten note believed to have been written by the victim was discovered nearby. In the note, she expressed deep emotional distress and criticised her father over long-standing debt issues, suggesting financial hardship played a role in her actions. Her father, Mr Boonchuay 76, told police he was sitting outside the house and did not hear the gunshot. He stated that his daughter had not shown signs of conflict with her husband, who was not at home when the incident occurred. Pol.Lt. Adisak confirmed that photographs were taken as evidence, and further investigation is ongoing. The victim’s husband is expected to be questioned as part of the inquiry.
